Night Fog in Dubai city 2011

Foggy Night on Sheikh Zayed Road

An entire city with the highest buildings in the world almost disappears under a thick cloud of fog stretching some 70 storeys up.

Twice a year, Dubai’s iconic skyline is transformed as a huge fog descends.

Fog gathers in Dubai because of a rise in temperature. While it may look pretty, it can cause chaos for motorists.

Condensation of air carrying moisture causes fog and mist in areas where the temperature drops. Mostly it happens in the coastal and interior areas. High levels of humidity and calm conditions further contribute to the development of fog, the forecaster explained.
